After 30 years of marriage (and 24 of being Elsie's dad), we can truly say Scott never ceases to amaze us -- his dedication to making this project come together with all of the countless finishing details we would mention and some I never even dared to dream. Scott did all of this even with a full time 60+ hour a week job and with only being able to take three or four days off from work during all of the months of building the 84 x 132' structure. We are so very thankful for Scott's willingness to see the vision we had for this property and for being brave enough to build a show barn in addition to an indoor arena.

Scott Guenther & Evan Guenther

A never ending thank you to Scott and Evan for their tireless work in the downpours of rain (and the mud that followed), the freezing cold, and the burning sun almost every single weekend and countless weeknights for well over a year to complete this big endeavor. Groundbreaking began October of 2019 with the removal of the old barn and the flattening of the site. Even with solid experience working on our many old houses over the years, building a structure of this size was not for the faint in heart. They invested over a thousand hours to turn our dreams into reality -- and our hearts rejoice as the end of this project is in sight.

If asked, Evan would say he doesn't much care for horses and yet there he was time after time working on the arena project while being a full time engineering student at OSU. In addition to working alongside Scott, Evan went above and beyond building a large planting box for the goat shed and a deck for the viewing area so the mommies would have some place nice to sit.

The Brown Family

Lucas Brown

for being an invaluable part of the arena/barn project because two years from now we would still be working on it if it wasn't for Lucas' ability to get things done with equipment. We continually marveled at his knack to navigate any machine -- including an enormous crane for his very first time when we needed the trusses put up.

Paul Brown

When Elsie first shared her dream of having her own barn to teach and train out of, Paul instantly said he would be happy to help!  We are so appreciative of his help with projects in the beginning stages and his willingness to generously share his equipment throughout the project. We couldn't have made this happen without you. And to both Paul & Julie -- thank you for raising such a wonderful son. It is s delight to see Lucas and Elsie so happy together.

Jared Brown

his has helped many times with his equipment skills and with the many trees that have needed to be taken down over the years.  His help filling in gaps when we had big projects and not enough help to get them done quickly. Thank you for always jumping in so things got done in time.

Randy & Hazel Hicklin

Former owners of the lower property.

About six months after we purchased the upper property, I told Scott if the adjacent house ever went up for sale, it would be a chance of a lifetime. (In all of our sketches and planning, I realized that our dreams might be bigger than four acres on a sloped hillside could hold.) Two weeks later, a 'For Sale' sign sat waiting for us to notice on that very property. While we made an almost immediate offer on the place, it was contingent on the sale of one of our rentals -- an unfinished one. There were many ups and downs in selling it which at times was like being strapped into a roller coaster ride in a scary movie. Owners of the adjacent property, Randy and Hazel, rode that coaster right along with us. They understood what the property meant to us and dared to dream too. (It took more than FOUR months of them waiting.) On two occasions, they could have sold it to someone else and we are so thankful they didn't.

for keeping our precious horses and their friends safe during the wildfire evacuation in September. She took over the fairgrounds and more than 350 horses and turned it into the Disneyland of evacuation sites.

Meredith & Ryan Wertz

Meredith is a one in a million realtor.

From the very moment we shared our dream, Meredith came and stood right beside us -- even when selling our unfinished rental produced obstacle after obstacle so we could purchase the adjacent property. These obstacles seemed almost impossible to navigate at times, yet Meredith was always there -- she saw our determination and shared her wisdom again and again when others would have turned away. I am certain without her we never would have succeeded in purchasing the lower property.

Rich Espejo

Sometimes just the right person comes into your life at just the right time. Rich owns and operates the facility that Tammy Mills trains out of. Elsie hauled Tilly in for a lesson just before the fire and evacuations and we were so impressed with how things were set up. Rich has generously given advice about footing and behind the scenes questions that helped us making the right choices without second guessing them.

Pamela Norris

of Silver Dream Photography

for capturing our favorite moments on film

Our beloved photographer, Pamela, never ceases to amaze us with her photos. We first noticed her work on a friend's Facebook page. Shortly after that she started taking photos at the Salem Saddle Club's events and became the photographer for Silverton's OHSET Team. She has taken countless photos of Elsie riding in just about every event possible -- and these photos are truly treasures. When Elsie battled losing sight in her left eye at the beginning of her senior year, it was Pamela who lovingly edited the photo so Elsie's senior picture could show her with both eyes open. Pamela could also be found on Elsie and Lucas' wedding day as well. She is ever dear to our hearts and the hearts of many who cherish her wonderful photographs.

Schmidgall Family

For withstanding a year and a half of riding in the outdoor arena. The Schmidgall family has been with us from the beginning (July 2019) -- from riding outside in the pouring down rain, hauling to arenas when the outdoor was unusable and never complaining and instead always encouraging. And special thanks to Lucas for helping us get concrete for the footings.
